flashback friday: ghosts of halloweens past

Rightly I should have titled this the butterflies, witches, pumpkins, and ballerinas of halloweens past, but thats a bit much.

Time to revisit our archives of halloween photos.

Cali’s first Halloween: I didn’t take one picture.

I have changed a bit from that time to now when I have a camera handy every second.

Cali’s second halloween:

Look at that cute little butterfly. I just want to jump into the picture and scoop her up and give her a squeeze.

We were at the ward halloween party with all of our student-ward friends.

I was about to have baby number 2 in a few weeks.

Its hard for me to believe that Cali is the same age in this pictures as Natalie is right now.

The next Halloween we were living in another city and decorated pumpkins for the first time.

All dressed up to go trick-or-treating at daddy’s office:

And then the next Halloween:

Living in another city. We had spent months in between houses, and had just moved into our house.

Kimi spent a lot of her time with a scowl on her face during that time of life, but maybe she was just good at staying in character.

And then there was Cali.

She was also a character.

This last picture brings me up to where my blogging began. Ian got to wear the traditional first Halloween pumpkin costume.

If you call something a “tradition” then you don’t have to plan or buy anything new.

I’m still working on convincing Kimi to wear the “traditional” witch costume for this year.

I’ll let you know if I trick convince her.

flashback friday: taking a trip down memory lane

Because I feel like the only trips I get to make anymore are trips to Walmart, I scanned a few photos from my trip to Europe in 1997 to remind myself I have been a few places and seen a few things.

The Schillerplatz in Stuttgart on a market day.
Neuschwanstein Castle on a rainy day.
The Charles Bridge in Prague at the end of an amazing day.

flashback friday: yellowstone 2003

That is Cali and me on her first trip to Yellowstone. We were living in Rexburg and my dad called me up one morning and asked if I'd like to go for a drive up to Yellowstone with him. I jumped at the chance.

I can't believe Cali was ever this little.
I hear that driving around Yellowstone still has this effect on Cali.

flashback friday-good times at granite

In this week's trip down memory lane I headed to Wyoming. Angela's recent post about their trip to Granite Hot Springs made me think about the last time I went camping there. I wish I could put together a post of all the times I have been there. Those would be some good memories. I was 6 months pregnant with Kimi at the time so there aren't shots of me, but look at Cali in her cute little suit. I thought she was so grown up at almost 18 months.
That was one comfy napping hammock.
This last picture was actually at Heise Hot Springs the month before. We went up to roast hot dogs and marshmallows one night with Tory and Elizabeth. I found it while I was looking for the Granite photos and decided to throw it in so Elizabeth could see what she was doing five years ago.
Now I have a crazy craving for s'mores.

flashback friday- double stroller

I have spent some time recently shopping for a double stroller, something I have wanted since Kimi was born. Luckily Cali and Kimi had skinny bottoms so this was our version of a double stroller a few years ago. We were going for a walk to the river by our house in Pocatello. We affectionately referred to the walking path and park as the "bayou." The river had just flooded and the mud and water were started to recede. It was looking more like a bayou than ever.

I forgot to mention they picked up their awesome shades at nursery in case you wondering about some for yourself.
